Another popular Indian dish in America, UK or Australia is Lamb spinach curry or lamb saagwala. It is very popular food in restaurants. This is also known as lamb saag or palak lamb which actually cooked with spinach and lamb. These meat pieces actually simmer in a spinach sauce. As we all know spinach is very healthy food. This curry is mild in spiced so it is easy to go with any palate.Â
The origin of this food is from Punjab  and it’s very popular dish in both Pakistan and India. I love to eat this dish in restaurant. In abroad lamb saag is one of the delicious meat curry dish.Â
For this recipe need to make spinach sauce. This cooking has 2 steps.Â
Firstly, make sauce.Â
Second step, cook all meat with spinach sauce.Â
Let’s check ingredients:Â
Lamb meat 500 gramÂ
Chili powder 1/2 tspÂ
Turmeric powder 1/2 tspÂ
Cumin powder 1 tspÂ
Green chili 2Â
Coriander powder 1 tspÂ
Salt as per tasteÂ
Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
Cardamom 2Â
Bay leaves 2Â
Cinnamon sticks 2Â
Oil 3 tbspÂ
Coriander leaves 3 tbspÂ
Homemade Garam Masala 1/4 tspÂ
In a pan , take spinach, garlic, ginger, cumin seeds, coriander leaves and cook for 4 minutes. Then cool down it and blend it smoothly.Â
Now in a thick pan or in a pressure cooker need to cook meat pieces. Heat oil and all whole spices, fry for 1 minutes. Now add all spices and a bit of water so that it will not burn in the bottom. Add spinach sauce and shimmer it for 5 minutes or until the oil comes onto the top.Â
Add all meat pieces and mix with all Masala. If required then add a little bit of water. Cover it and cook for 20 minutes. First 5 minutes need to cook it in a high heat and then need to cook it in medium to low flame for 15 minutes in a pressure cooker. Cream is add to the end so it’s give a creamy texture at the end. Lamb sasgwala is very easy to cook and it’s very popular at our dining. So must try this one you will get homely tasty food which will please your belly.Â
But if you use normal pot then you may need to cook it for longer time and in between check it so that it will not burn in the bottom.Â
For pressure cooker:Â
To reduce your cooking time pressure cooker work immensely.Â
You need to cook this meat within 10 to 12 whistle. In between always check the curry or stir it well, so that it will protect dish from burning.Â
Very delicious and each and every bite is worthy. I love to eat these with roti, chapati or naan. It is also tasty with steam rice.Â
