Snapper fish curry or bhuna ❤️🥰❤️🥰🌶🌶🌶

This is one of the yummiest Bengali authentic dish which is called Fish curry or macher bhuna. We have to make aromatic sauce with spices. Today I cooked this dish with Snapper fish and cut into cutlet pieces. You can use here Rohu or Rui fish, Tilapia,  prawn, pomfret or any fish according to your taste. 

Ingredients:

1 snapper fish 1 kilo 

Chili powder 1 tsp 

Red dried chili 🌶 3 

Turmeric 1 tsp 

Coriander powder 2 tsp 

Cumin powder 2 tsp 

Salt as per taste 

1 inch cinnamon stick 

2/3 cardamom 

Mace and nutmeg 1 pinch 

Tomato 🍅 one cut into thin slice 1/2 and rest of the half tomato 🍅 chopped 

Coriander leaves 1/4 cup 

Black pepper 1/2 tsp

Mustard seeds 1 pinch make powder 

Cumin powder 2 tsp 

Vinegar for wash fish 

Olive oil 2 tbsp 

Mustard oil 2 tbsp 

Cooking method:  it has two steps. 

Firstly, marinated fish with 1 tsp red chili powder , turmeric powder 1 tsp, coriander and cumin powder 1 tsp, salt as per taste. Fry for 2 minutes each side. 

Masala making: In a blender 1 tsp coriander seeds, cumin seeds 1 tsp, red dried chili, ginger and garlic 1 tbsp. Blend well. 

In a pan heat mustard oil and fry for 2 minutes each side of the fish and keep aside. Then add chopped onion and cinnamon stick 1 inch, mace and nutmeg 1 pinch, 1 bay leaves. Fry all very nicely. When the onion become a bit red then add all blend all spices. Cook until the raw smell gone. Now add 1/2 cup water and shimmer for 6 minutes and then add snapper pieces and cover the lid. Cook for 6 to 8 minutes. In between check the fishes so it will not burn. Finally add chopped coriander and cook for 2 minutes. 

Ready yum yum restaurant style fish curry. Fish lovers will love this dish. 

You can follow this recipe for chicken or any red meat.
