Bengali yummy food cooked by sweet sister. ♥️♥️♥️

Mascolai Dal or lentil soup is very popular in Bengali Cuisine. In India it is known as Urid Dal. This is very healthy ad nutritious as well. When mom used to cook this I just love a lot. Today's food courtesy and photo is came from lovely sister.

Lets check out the recipe.

Ingredients:

Mascolai Dal 1 cup (Make it powder)

Onion 1 big cut into slices

Turmeric 1/4 tbsp

Chili powder 1 tsp

Garlic 1/2 tbsp

Ginger 1/2 tbsp

Salt as per taste

Coriander powder 1tbsp

Cumin powder 1 Tbsp

Fish barramundi 5 pieces

Coriander leaves 1 cup

Green Chili 3/4

Oil 1/2

Add homemade spices: 1 tbsp

Spices are following:

Radhuni

Coriander seeds

Cumin seeds

cardamom

Cinnamon

Fried all and make a powder

This cooking has two steps.

Firstly, in a pan heat Oil and fry onion and garlic. Then add all spices and add also water a little bit, it will protect from burning. Now add fish pieces and cook for only couple of minutes and keep aside.

Add dal powder and water, cover with a lid. Boil for 30 minutes and in between check it for 3 to 4 times so that it will not burn in the bottom of the pan. When the dal is done nearly 80% then add fish and cover it again for 10 minutes. Finally garnish it with coriander leaves and green chili.
